Founded in 2003, the Institute of Optoelectronic Measurement and Control of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) currently has over 50 faculty, staff, doctoral and masters students. Among them, 1 is a recipient of the National High-Level Talent Program, 1 is a Longjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, 2 are professors, 4 are associate professors, 10 are full-time engineers, 12 are doctoral students, and more than 20 are masters students.

Research Directions: For a long time, centering on major national demands and international academic frontiers, the institute has been engaged in scientific and technological research as well as instrument and equipment R&D in the field of optoelectronic intelligent precision measurement, control and sensing. Its main research directions include precision optical measurement and sensing technology, machine vision, artificial intelligence, etc.

Scientific Research and Teaching Achievements: Over the past decade, the institute has undertaken more than 90 projects in total, including major national scientific research projects, key provincial and ministerial-level projects, and horizontal projects for military and civilian products, with total research funding exceeding 100 million yuan. It has won 1 National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class), 1 Ministerial-level Technological Invention Award (Special Class), 1 Ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Award (First Class), and 1 Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances in Chinese Universities. The institute has published more than 100 SCI and EI indexed papers and obtained over 40 authorized national invention patents. It has also compiled 2 national-level planned textbooks and offered 5 undergraduate and postgraduate courses
